I own the GE E1030 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Silver) and decided I’d like to update mine so I picked the X5. The X5 has all kinds of new features that the old one didn’t but the image quality didn’t really get any better than the old one. Still the batteries last long(still haven’t timed them), the image stabilization is good but I try to avoid using it because it adds more noise to the pictures. The video & audio quality is mediocre at best and I don’t know if it’s just me or what because when I turn the camera on and move it around, it makes a high pitched sound that the microphone picks up during recording. Still all those problems can be easily fixed during editing, so if you don’t mind a little work for a great image then I recommend this camera.

I have had my GE X5 for about 30 days now, I like it, it’s easy to use and take great photos. I have not had any problems with it, Yes you can spend more for a better camera but why? If you are not a pro in photography this little X5 will serve you well. The best thing I can say is the X5 does alot for what you pay.

Just got this Camera yesterday, and played with it for a few hours. It has many features, but seem to have shortcommings, for example I cant find a manual focus, the only connector is a USB (cant connect to TV), no power connector, complicated menus. It seems to take good photos in auto mode, 14 megapixels, 15X zoom, but when examining a photo max magnification is 8X. I guess for $140 it’s a remarkable buy, but could be so much better. The Video recording is fair, MOV extension played on VLC media player, good as any still camera. Will comment more with a little more experience. Did take some rather nice photos of ancient coins (macro on and off).

I have had a number of regular cameras just to shoot regular day things but I have always loved photography so I decided to “splurge” and I use the term loosely, and buy this camera. I wanted a more “professional” one but did not want to waste 500 dollars on one so I decided on this one. I fell in love with it instantly when I saw it, black, sleek, small & cute perfect for me! Anyways the camera takes beautiful pictures, the zoom is amazing allowing me to get beautiful close up pictures. I adore it and will be keeping it till I have made enough money with it to buy a new one. The original batteries it comes with did not last long so I decided to buy some rechargable ones and those last for days, then charge them again and more days. If you are a beginner looking for a start this is where to start

this is my second camera so this is amazing to me the photos are great so many features. the paper manuel is useless so just use the cd. some of the features are a little complicated to get to but the work well. it has 480p video which is ok for the price, the build is solid, but the batterie cover moves. there is a continues/ burst mode other wise there is a little delay between photos. there is not much of a delay that i can tell between pressing the button and the photo being taken. i suggest buying at ritz camera and printing out a page off of amazon saying it 130$ they will give you that price and free photography classes. i recommend this to any beginner, which is what i am.
